Funeral Eulogy and Bereavement Resources

Everything for Funerals Eulogies and Bereavement

About Us

The idea for this Book of Remembrance website arose from two ministers of religion
after a lifetime of caring for the bereaved.

The first spent years as a minister of religion, several of those working as an industrial chaplain within the commercial deep sea fishing industry.  On a regular basis he had to notify relatives that their loved ones had died at sea following an accident or sinking, and he was frequently involved in supporting relatives through memorial services where there was no body.  He saw at first hand the distress caused by there being no focal point for their remembrance.  No burial place, no headstone, nowhere where their ashes had been scattered.

The second also spent many years comforting the bereaved, both as a minister of religion, and whilst subsequently employed by a busy funeral director.  It was in both these areas that she was frequently engaged in arranging funerals for people who were cremated.  Frequently, the only memorial would be a one line entry in the crematoriums book of remembrance, an entry that would only be displayed on the anniversary of the cremation alongside everyone cremated on the same date.

They both felt that the bereaved deserved a more fitting tribute,
and this website is the result.

On this site, you can provide a fitting tribute

We hope the Book of Remembrance will develop into a major obituaries resource, that can be used by family and historical researchers, with links from the obituaries in the remembrance book to family tree entries, to photographs of those being remembered, and with links between related members of the same family.

Why not add an entry in our book of remembrance for someone you love.

Unlike some sites, as ours develops, we intend access to the various strands of historical information to be completely free.  Not a search engine, but a one stop shop to all types of information about people who have died.  A remembrance book, remembrance photographs, remembrance verses, family trees and obituaries.
With access completely free.

During the last few months we've added many
new features to our Book of Remembrance website.
